Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Team seeks to reach out in various ways to meet practical as well as spiritual and emotional needs of parishioners.

The most active ministry is the Caring Meals Team. Through this team, meals are provided to families when there is a tragedy or the primary care-giver is incapacitated in some way. There is always a need for volunteers willing to prepare and deliver a meal on an as-needed basis. The team is organized into groups which rotate being on-call. We try to have enough team members so that the burden is shared and the load is light. The church will reimburse expenses. The meal team coordinator contacts team members when necessary. Shannon Maitre is the coordinator for Mobile County, and Diana Parker is the coordinator for Baldwin County.

The Card Ministry sometimes enhances the meal team. While not a requirement, some may feel led to write a note of encouragement, sympathy, congratulations, etc.

It is hoped that a Hospital Visitation Team can be reinstituted. Some brief training will be necessary to equip team members to go into hospital situations to pray with patients as a representative of the Christ Anglican Church community. This will augment and not replace hospital visitations by the clergy.
